She served as Vice President of the Baton Rouge Association of Women Attorneys for the 2007-2008 year, and Secretary for the 2006-2007 year. This January, on behalf of the Baton Rouge Association of Women Attorneys, Ms. Hatfield attended the Louisiana State Bar Association leaders luncheon, which allowed Ms. Hatfield to converse with other local and specialty bar leaders, learn the challenges facing local bar associations, and to brainstorm regarding how to effectively overcome those challenges.
Ms. Hatfield occasionally provides pro-bono work for the Baton Rouge Bar Association Volunteer Committee, and participates in activities such as the Annual Food Drive, and Annual Easter Eggstravaganza.
In 2009, Teresa Hatfield chose to deliver affordable legal services to the greater Baton Rouge area and began a general practice. Ms. Hatfield also speaks fluent Spanish and is reaching out to offer legal services to the Hispanic community. Ms. Hatfield believes that excellent attorney client communication, careful legal research, a fresh, innovative perspective on current legal issues, accompanied by making legal representation affordable, will yield the most positive results for the client, and will increase the likelihood of repeat business and referrals. In most cases, fees are tailored to meet the needs of the individual client so that each client who truly wants quality representation can afford it.
